For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

All Christians and churches are called to be disciples and to love their neighbour as themselves . These essential commands, however, are expressed through a wide variety of outreach ministries.  At All Saints, in addition to support through prayer and our individual reaching out to those in our community who are in any kind of need, our outreach also consists of –

Home Group

There is a home group in Mendham which meets at 6 South View Mendham once a month from 2pm to about 3.45 pm on the last Tuesday of the month. We are always very happy for new members to join us.  We are currently studying a Pilgrim Course – “Church and Kingdom.”

All the study materials are firmly based in the Bible and stimulate lots of discussion.

The group is led by lay elder, Christine Christian, and members encourage each other in faith and outreach.

Other home groups are available across the benefice at other times of the day, and most meet every 2 weeks. If you are looking for a group to join, please speak to Revd. Susan Loxton, and she will direct you to the best one for you.

Open the Book is a project run under the auspices of The Bible Society which offers primary school children an opportunity to hear the major stories of the Bible, from a team of Christians from local churches,  who, with the permission, and at the invitation of the head teacher, go into their local primary school to tell and act out Bible stories in assembly. There is a children’s Bible and a handbook to direct what we say and do.

The volunteers are all required to have a DBS check.

During the past several years our Open the Book team has been invited to visit Mendham school 2 or 3 times each half term. We currently have a team of 4 women. It would be great to have more volunteers, including men, to join us! We would also benefit from someone who could make us a few new props and/or costumes.

The children love us coming and remember from visit to visit what Bible story they heard last time. There are also many opportunities for the children to participate in the action. This is a wonderful way to introduce children to the Bible.

If you would like to join us, or help in other ways, please contact Christine Christian
